Easy to Build Plague Marines Manual/Paint Guide

Hi All,

I finally went and bought my first kit after years of following WH40K lore.

Problem was the kit i bought was the Easy to build Plague Marines Paint set, it doesn’t comes with any manuals or paint guides and i was wondering if there’s a pdf file of the manual that came with the Easy to build kit somewhere in the net that i can reference to.

I’m completely new to painting at this point.

Thanks,

How to build a Plague Marine

The Chaos side of the starter pack, Warhammer TV’s Duncan has released a video on how to construct the Death Guard models in Dark Imperium.

Not much more to report on that, but tune in tomorrow for a brief run down of Adeptus Mechanicus in 8th Edition.

Until next time!

Thanks for reading.

Primaris Space Marine Paint Planner

The good chaps over at Games Workshop marketing have just released a bit of fluff on the Ultima Founding, the latest crop of Space Marine chapters. These are all based around the Primaris Space Marines, so expect your current Marines to fade away. Again, not a bad thing, as it’s just a shift to True Scale Space Marines that still lets you play with your old stuff whilst you transition. To help you buy their new models, Games Workshop have also given you a nifty line drawing of a Primaris Space Marine, so you can plan your new Chapter. Now I’m certain they didn’t intend to add all those little gaps in the lines making it hard for you to use simple drawing editors to plan your marines on computer, nor did they realise how difficult it would be to do so on .pdf format. So I fixed it for them. Here’s the same thing with the gaps filled in, and in easy to edit .jpeg format. Don’t worry Gee Dubs… Tabletop Teacher’s got your back! UPDATE: The .jpeg was

Painting Guide: Blood Angels, perfecting the colour scheme

Image

Looking for some tips on getting the best out of your Sons of Sanguinius? Want some simple ways of making your Blood Angels look good without having to get an art diploma first? Well let’s get started then, and show you how to paint this Blood Angels Intercessor Space Marine. Blood Angels were one of my first armies in 40K, and a favourite of many a neophyte and veteran alike. Their red colour scheme, along with Dark Angels Green and Ultramarines Blue, is one of the standard newbie palettes that can look good with only a little bit of skill. Like the others in that little triumvirate, it still has ways you can tweak it to be really great looking on table top. What I’ve done here is nothing more than the standard Games Workshop recommended paint scheme, with some tweaks and tips to get to that ‘eavy metal stage. I often see people copying what comes out of the Citadel Paint App or Duncan’s videos, and never quite getting these results (usually darker withou

T’au 500 point Starter Army, Heroes of The Greater Good

Image

I’m revamping and re-tooling my T’au army. Although I’m certain the list I’ve come up with is both competitive and easy to use, I don’t think I’ll be continuing collecting T’au. Whilst I’ll never stop believing in mecha and the sheer coolness of robots, with Crisis Suits now solidly priced as an elite unit I can’t form the Crisis Suit Wings that I love from 7th Edition. Firewarriors and Breacher teams are fantastic as Troop choices, and you really can’t go wrong fielding them en masse. But I’m here for the Crisis Suits, and infuriatingly I can’t fit nearly as many as I can in an army as the old days. But enough of the old bitter veteran moaning, let’s see what disgusting fire power we lay upon the enemy! This is not the whole army, but a good chunk of it… weapon choices are all wrong though. The army I had planned started as a Farsight Enclave list, to fit my Mu’gulath Bay Avengers (the poor homeless blue chaps above

So, for a while I’d been pondering how to tackle converting the three ‘ETB’ Plague Marines which were released last year. Having bought a set for my army on release, I unexpectedly aquired a second from my daughter who – at that time – had fancied giving the hobby a go. Her interest didn’t last long, sadly, and I decided to make use of the models she had by doing a few conversions.

Easy to Build Plague Marines

One of the main issues I faced was that certain parts where moulded to others, making it difficult to shuffle the bits around freely. That said, with some careful cutting, filing and minor green-stuff work, I managed to kit-bash the Champion and Blight Launcher carrier fairly easily using spares from the Plague Marines multi-part kit.

However, the third marine had me beat. At first, I thought about doing a simple head-swap and calling it done. I knew that if I did that, though, it would constantly bug me that it wasn’t different enough from the original sculpt – and, if truth be told, because of the position of the arms and bolter, I was concerned that I would end up damaging the model beyond repair. While searching for inspiration on ‘the net’, I was surprised that there wasn’t a great amount of converted easy-to-build Plague Marines doing the rounds – and if there were, I didn’t find many. This was especially true for the one that was causing me the biggest headache to figure out.

But… I think I’ve finally cracked it!

Alternate Plague Flail

I hope some of you find this useful if your planning on doing something similar, and I hope you like what I came up with.

Until next time,

John.
